Privacy Policy — Model Business

The short version. The app has no user accounts and talks to no server of ours. Every model you create is stored only on your device, encrypted. We don't collect, transmit, sell or have access to your financial data — because there's nowhere for it to go.

Who we are

Information the app stores

The models you build — business plans and household budgets — are saved as encrypted files in your device's private app storage. Each file is encrypted using SQLCipher with a key generated on your device and held in the platform secure store (Keychain on iOS, the Android Keystore-backed store). That key never leaves your device and is not known to us.

This information stays on your device unless you choose to share it — for example, by emailing a model or exporting a PDF. When you do, the file goes only to the destination you pick, through the sharing tools your device provides. We are not a party to that transfer.

Information we do not collect

No account, email address or password is required to use the app.
No analytics, advertising identifiers, tracking or usage profiling.
No contacts, location, photos or files beyond a model you explicitly open or import.
No copy of your models on any server we control.

Purchases

When you buy Model Business, the purchase is processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play under their terms — we never see your payment details. Please review the Apple and Google privacy policies for how they handle payment information.

This website

This site (modelbusiness.app) is a static marketing site hosted on Microsoft Azure. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies. Like any website, the hosting platform records standard technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability; these are handled by Microsoft as our hosting provider. If we later add a newsletter sign-up or contact form, we will update this policy to describe it.

Children

Model Business is a general-purpose financial tool and is not directed at children. Because we collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.

Your choices and rights

Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control: delete a model in the app to remove it, or uninstall the app to remove everything. Depending on where you live (for example, under the Australian Privacy Act, the GDPR or the CCPA) you may have additional rights regarding personal information; since we do not hold your financial data, requests about it are answered by pointing you to the copy on your own device. Changes to this policy

If we change how the app or site handles information, we will post the revised policy here with a new "last updated" date.

Note for launch: this is an accurate description of how the app works today. Have it reviewed against your obligations in each market you publish to (App Store and Google Play both require a linked privacy policy), and revisit it if you ever add analytics, crash reporting, a sign-up form or cloud sync.
