Getting started

Create your first model

Tap New Model on the home screen and choose a template: Home budget, product, service or franchise. The relevant categories are added for you — open a section, tap a line, and type an amount. Yearly figures spread across the twelve months automatically, and section totals roll up as you go.

Business plan or household budget?

Choose Home budget for a personal or family budget — the app switches to income, expenses and net surplus. The business templates use revenue, gross profit and return on investment.

Reports & sharing

Export a PDF report

Open a model and tap Export PDF report in the insight panel. You'll get a branded report with your key figures, a full profit-and-loss table, a five-year chart and a line-by-line breakdown, ready to share or print.

Email a model to someone

Press and hold a model on the home screen and choose Share, then pick Mail (or any share option). The recipient opens the attachment on their device and it imports straight into Model Business as a new model. If they already have one with the same name, yours is added alongside it with a number — nothing is overwritten.

Open a model someone sent me

Tap the .mb attachment and choose Open in / Copy to Model Business. On Android you can also share the attachment to Model Business from your mail app. It imports as a new model.

Your purchase

What's included

Model Business is a single one-time purchase — every feature is unlocked, including PDF reports, printing and sharing models. There's no subscription and nothing else to buy.

Reinstalling or moving to a new device

Your purchase is tied to the App Store or Google Play account you bought it with. Sign in with that account and re-download Model Business at no extra charge — on iOS it also appears under your Purchased list. If it ever asks you to pay again, email us and we'll sort it out.

Your data

Where models are stored & backups

Every model is an encrypted file kept only on your device. It's included in your device's normal encrypted backup (iCloud/Finder backup on iOS, your Android backup) if you have that switched on. To keep a copy yourself, email a model to yourself and save the attachment.

Delete a model

Press and hold a model and choose Delete. Uninstalling the app removes all models from the device. Because nothing is stored on our servers, deletion on your device is permanent — keep an emailed copy first if you might need it.
